Technical Support Engineer Controls
The Technical Support Engineer Controls is responsible for proactively monitoring the Material Handling Equipment system and resolving issues. They perform first-line incident management and LLC supervision, conducting malfunction analysis and troubleshooting machine network problems. The engineer collaborates with control room disciplines to minimize downtime by evaluating network performance, installing and testing equipment, and facilitating effective communication. They are also responsible for remote fault-finding and diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, and PLC faults. Additionally, the engineer engages in continuous improvement efforts and potential system modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- SCADA supervision, guiding engineers in MHE.
- Developing solutions for software/PLC-controlled MHE issues.
- Proficient in ProfiNet®, ASI, frequency/VFD, servo controllers, scanners, SCADA.
- Using a ticketing system for LLC incidents.
- Working closely with control room and Client‘s operations teams.
- Ensuring proper storage of CPU/HMI backups.
- Handling equipment-related problems.
- Timely response to minimize downtime.
- Optimizing uptime and availability of automated equipment.
- Recommendations and decisions with operational considerations.
- Guiding and training site engineers.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably industrial automation).
- 2+ years of experience in similar roles.
- Fully trained on LLC technical stack, integration with WES, and LLC operations/MHI (superuser level).
- Proficient with third-party LLC programming tools/software.
- Experienced with various communication protocols (ProfiNet / ASI).
- Skilled in fault finding, troubleshooting, and modification on PLCs (Siemens TIA Portal).
- Fluent in Czech, proficient in English.
- Service-oriented mindset.
- Team player.
- Good understanding of MHE and Client‘s (logistics) operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Stress-resistant; able to work in time-critical environments.
- Experienced in knowledge transfer and sharing.
- Good communication skills.
